Recreation

The following are some options that you have at your disposal for recreation while at

Riverbend Retreat Center.

The Activity Center is a two-court indoor gymnasium.  It is available at no cost on a first come basis and can usually be used by multiple groups.  It contains four basketball goals and one volleyball net.  Groups of at least 300 can reserve this facility for recreation or meeting space.

The Challenge Course is a wonderful tool that will help your team develop teamwork, unity and much more.  The following page contains more information about this activity. *

A Hayride is another activity in which your group may choose to participate.  Our tractor-pulled trailer can accommodate up to 30 people at once.  Hayrides are usually scheduled in one-hour increments. *

Campfires can be scheduled for your group and are set up at the amphitheatre.  There is no extra charge for this activity, but it will need to be scheduled in advance.

Paddleboats are available for your groups use.  We have 10 paddleboats, which can accommodate up to 30 people at one time.  A Riverbend staff member will assist your group with the paddleboats. *

The Frontier Paintball Course is a new activity that has been very popular since it began.  This activity is for Jr. High and up and can be scheduled for 1 or 2 hours.  Riverbend provides all the equipment and supplies for this fast-paced, teamwork activity. *

The Paintball Target Range is a great activity for younger age kids.  A Riverbend staff member will assist your group with the target range. *

The Outdoor Adventure Hike* is a great opportunity for your group to experience and learn more about Riverbend's beautiful natural setting.  One of our Outdoor Education instructors can give your group an informative hands-on tour of the wonderful creation that is all around us.

The Archery Range is another great activity that your group might want to schedule.  One of our certified instructors will teach your group for 1 hour on every aspect of archery. *

The Swimming Pool is a great opportunity for your group to cool off and enjoy the water.  This pool is from 3' to 12' deep and features a diving board.  Certified Riverbend Lifeguards are on duty to ensure a safe, fun time.  The pool is available from the 3rd weekend in May until Labor Day Weekend. *

The Waterfront is a Riverbend favorite.  A 3 acre lack which features "The Blob", "Aqua Jump", paddleboats & a swim area.  Certified Riverbend Lifeguards are on duty to ensure a safe, fun time.  The watefront is available from the 3rd weekend in May until Labor Day Weekend. *

Other Activities & Recreation that your group may want to participate in:

• Sports Fields & Activity Center (Multiple use facility, unable to be individually reserved)
  • Basketball - Indoor and Outdoor
  • Volleyball - Indoor and Outdoor (2 Sand & 2 Concrete)
  • Football
  • Soccer
  (Equipment is located in the activity center or can be checked out in the camp office)
• Softball: 2 fields, 1 lighted (equipment can be checked out in the office by an adult)
• Ping-pong (equipment is available at the canteen)
• Frisbee Golf (Frisbees, score cards & pencils are available in the camp office)
• Tetherball
• Fishing on the Lake (Guests must provide their own equipment)
• Hiking Trails
