Fish Fry
Report
Marking the 40th Anniversary
of Riverbend and the Fish Fry, the attendance was 1,548,
one of the highest in recent years. There were many
good comments on the meal and the program of Whole
Heart and Dennis Swanberg were big hits!
Thank you to the following:
- Eagle Mountain Baptist Church men, fish fryers
- Shady Oaks Baptist Church men, beverage servers
- Tate Springs Baptist Church men, food servers
- FBC, Arlington Sound Crew, sound
- Riverbend Staff for ALL they do to make it a great
event.
- Jeff Williams for donating a Tony Romo autographed
football and Michael Young baseball and poster as
fundraisers.
- Joe Lenamon for donating a Pat Summerall autographed
football as a fundraiser.
- High Point Travel for donating a ski trip for four
as the grand door prize.
Plan on joining us on October 7th, 2008 for
the Men's Fish Fry as Chad Hennings, former Dallas Cowboy
will be our speaker!

Fish Fry
Golf Classic
The first "Fish Fry Golf Classic"
was a huge success as 126 golfers came out to play golf,
enjoy the fellowship, and support Riverbend! All
were winners, but Danny Witt, Wes Noah, Tim Noah and Mateo
Rendon came in first place. With the entry fees,
sponsors and pledges to Friends of the Bend, over
$7,000 was raised towards the Watefront Renovation.

Cedar Bluff Lodge Update
Thanks to great work from many volunteers,
Cedar Bluff Lodge is on schedule! This month,
the Texas Baptist Men Special Project Team have put
on the metal roof, doors, windows and siding and are
now trimming out the soffit. The Volunteer Christian
Builders will arrive on Monday to put up sheetrock.
Our goal is to complete the lodge by
this summer. Reservations for this 12-room lodge
with two meeting areas and kitchen can be made beginning
this coming Tuesday.
